The Word Perhaps makes it True! Perhaps the Physician Luke was the first to reach Eutychus......
It would be fun to search how many times that word is used to make new light true! Or anything else for that matter.
from the wt dated dec 2017 - study 1 para 11 studied by all congregations 4th feb 2018. the question asked on this paragraph is:.
what did the physician luke report happened to a young man, and how did that affect others?”.
paragraph 11 in this wt reads:.
The Word Perhaps makes it True! Perhaps the Physician Luke was the first to reach Eutychus......
It would be fun to search how many times that word is used to make new light true! Or anything else for that matter.
just wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).
with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.
The last few meetings I went to, my eyes were rolling out of my head over the pompous, self adulation of the GB.
If I were to walk into a hall now, it would seem like I've walked onto a set from a tv series. A place like the twilight zone. I wouldn't be able to stop myself from laughing in disbelief or saying "that's crap".
So I don't think I'll be going.
voynich manuscript https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/voynich_manuscript.
scientists have harnessed the power of artificialintelligence to unlock the secrets of an ancientmanuscript that has baffled experts.. discovered in the 19th century, the voynich manuscriptuses “alien” characters that have long puzzled crypto-graphers and historians.
now, however, computingscientists at the university of alberta say they aredecoding the mysterious 15th-century text.. computing science professor greg kondrak and graduatestudent bradley hauer applied artificial intelligence tofind ambiguities in the text’s human language.. the first stage of the research was working out themanuscript’s language.
I often wonder, hey, maybe a mad person made this.
Some of it seems to represent the female reproductive system. Pretty crazy botany going on too. Lots of naked females that are poorly drawn. Even tho the flowers and the plants don't look familiar, they have their own style and are better drawn than the people. It gives me the impression of a medical/herbal/spell/these plants represent people parts kind of thing. Add a lot of poor advice too.
something occurred to me today.
quite randomly as i was working away at my desk i remembered an illustration from the bible teach book in which satan claimed he knew better than jehovah about ruling mankind.
here's the illustration from chapter 11 of that book:.
When I read that section from the bible teach book, I realize that once again the WT skews the perception of any that question and labels them as "rebels" Korah the rebel, students as rebels. What if the student was a genius and did have a better answer?
Of course the WT wouldn't let anyone question them. They yearn for the days of the Israelites when you could stone someone.
Funny tho, I placed that book with a teacher. Never found her at home again.
having listened to the two gb helpers (and cedar's interspersed commentary), i was somewhat taken aback at the comments on the widespread availability of smartphones and such at bethel.
of course, in the congregations, too.

Thats like saying it is, in part, IBMs fault for the spread of child sex abuse because they made it easier for pedophiles to solicit children by inventing the personal computer and putting one in everyone’s home. The absurd and intellectually lazy depths some of you stoop to so to discredit jws is amazing. bobby2446
How very interesting that you used such an extreme example. And it has to do with pedophiles too. This must be on your mind because no one else is talking about it here.
The subject is just whether or not the GB assessed the danger of the internet in regards to spiritual health. As LisaRose said, they probably knew that they couldn't stem the tide so to speak and hoped that their website and their position would keep things under control.
Really, you should have been more careful when you read the topic.

Before they approved the internet - they had the picture in the WT of the snake (satan) and the internet plug being one and the same. Now they are kissing the snake and wondering why it bit them.
i was thinking about the jdub paradise this morning and all of the pictures in the watchtower company's literature illustrating the new system of things.. here is a partial list of what you see in the pictures:.
pet pandas, lions, elephants.
people always on a picnic with lots of beautiful fruits and vegetables.
You know what I used to think about? How you were going to get rid of the piles of leftover concrete/glass/metal from the cities.
For clothing, I figured that after Armaggedon, all the sisters would rush to the stores and stockpile clothes and shoes. Couldn't god make the clothing last like he did with the Israelites in the wilderness? Afterwards, you would have to wait for a cow to drop down dead so that you could make leather.
But in the far far future, I imagined that the human brain would be able to come up with eco friendly hover devices. There would be geniuses resurrected to help out and angels to say No to the damaging stuff.
But really, unless you garden or produce the everyday items by hand, you wouldn't know how time consuming they are to make. Hey eternity is a long time to figure it out.
to the person who reported me to the elders from here - thank you for making me be able to leave the organisation a whole lot easier and sooner than i'd planned.
you did me a huge favour 😊.
prompted by one of our fellow posters- jrjw who started a thread asking how to remove "kingdom melodies" from our head, this song title came to mind!
(sorry for the earworm everyone😉).
it got me thinking.
Of course, a JW will answer - God is perfect, but.... his servants aren't. Us imperfect humans is what he has to work with.
I haven't tried this out yet - no opportunity - but I would bring up King Saul. He wanted david dead or captured. Would you be like jonathan or dodo? Would you blindly obey an anointed King or would you reason on what you knew of david and his loyalty to god? Should we blindly obey those that claim to represent god and yet show that they change back and forth on teachings - blood - organ transplants. Isn't that a reproach on God himself? Aren't we each responsible for our actions? If we do wrong by following an imperfect humans teachings, will God accept "We were just obeying those you chose?" Hahaha I know it won't work, but we have to try.
jehovah himself gives the saying "the women telling the good news are a large army" psalms 68 : 11 coupled with the fact that a good portion of women partake of the emblems and wine at the annual memorial celebration.. identifying themselves as part of the 144000 that are taken from the earth to rule with christ jesus in the heavens.. isn`t it about time they were recognized for their contributions and given the fact that gods word the bible clearly states that 144,000 of anointed are to be taken from the earth which many women are a large part of.?.
revelation ch.14 :4 could be argued that they are not lesbians { "these are the ones who do not defile themselves with women ,in fact they are virgins, etc,etc.}.
i wonder just how many men who claim to be of the anointed have not defiled themselves with women and are virgins.?.
The simple answer to your question:-
NEVER
Actually, the Governing Body's answer to this is "Over my dead body"
